    ArtsBoston is looking to fill the following positions:
    - Graphic Designer & Brand Steward (Digital and Print)
    - Marketing Intern

    Graphic Designer & Brand Steward (Digital and Print)

    We are seeking freelance designers with experience in all levels of graphic design, including concepting through to final production.


    Our ideal designer has a minimum of 5-7 years experience across both digital and print and have a passion for the visual and performing arts in Greater Boston. Experience with HTML/CSS, email/online template design, informational graphic design and rich media banner content a must as well as being comfortable exploring the role of brand in creating cohesive experiences across multiple platforms. Online retail or catalogue design experience preferred. Additional experience with video editing is a plus.
     

    The ability to work on tight timelines, good judgment with the ability to effectively manage the expectations of others, and communication skills must be top-notch. Strong organizational skills, deadline and service driven, team oriented. This is a unique opportunity to help elevate and brand the arts community throughout our region.

    Marketing Intern*

    ArtsBoston seeks marketing interns starting September, January and June to work 10-15 hours per week and help with the following projects:

    • Building and creating e-mail campaigns in Constant Contact (top email system used at today’s non-profit organizations),
    • Cultivating and developing new and existing audiences for the BosTix.org 1/2 price ticketing program,
    • Creating and sharing video content
    • Research on current consumers and market trends,
    • Guerilla marketing and coordination of ArtsBoston street teams,
    • Data entry and conversion to Salesforce, one of the top database management software systems,
    • Opportunity to learn the basics of media buying,

    This is a terrific opportunity to work with a small, hands-on arts organization in many capacities.

    Experience using constant contact email system a plus, interest and participation in the arts strongly preferred.

    Development Intern*

    ArtsBoston is seeking an outgoing and organized Development Intern to start in May or September to report directly to Development Manager and work 15-20 hours per week. This is an unpaid internship, but a terrific opportunity to work collaboratively in a hands-on nonprofit arts organization, and to develop relationships with numerous arts organizations in the area. Frequent complimentary tickets to arts events are available and school credit may be applied.
     

    Responsibilities:

    • Participate in a wide variety of the Development Department’s day to day activities, including the preparation and submission of grant proposals to corporations, foundations and government-funding sources.
    • Assist with the execution of annual fund solicitation mailings.
    • Process gifts and generate acknowledgement letters.
    • Organize and update development files and online donor databases.
    • Conduct prospect research for individual, corporate and foundation donor prospects.
    • Use search databases and publications such as the Chronicle of Philanthropy, Boston Business Journal, Guide Star and Charity Navigator.
    • Assist with the planning and execution of cultivation events.
    • Attend key meetings and take notes as needed.
       

    Qualifications:
    The ideal candidate is a highly responsible self-starter with a love for arts and administration. Candidate must have the ability to multitask, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and complete tasks of high quality in an efficient manner. Desired computer proficiency includes Microsoft Office.

    Market Knowledge Program Intern*

    ArtsBoston seeks a Market Knowledge Program Intern to start as soon as possible to work 15-20 hours per week. This position will play an integral role in Greater Boston’s first comprehensive market knowledge program, the ArtsBoston Audience Initiative (AAI). The AAI will offer arts and cultural organizations the tools and insights to understand, engage, and expand audiences using the same kind of data-driven decision making that other business sectors have been using for years. This dynamic new program has been created to analyze, and ultimately increase, cultural participation in Greater Boston, while simplifying cultural list exchanges between arts organizations.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Assisting with the recruitment of new participants for the AAI 
    • Tracking contract and data submissions for new participants
    • Analyzing geographic, demographic and psychographic reports on ArtsBoston patrons as well full database of arts participants in Greater Boston
    • Communicating with ArtsBoston’s 170 member organizations regarding the AAI
    • Organizing ongoing convening for AAI participants
    • Updating and creating content for the AAI portion of ArtsBoston.org
    • Creating and sharing best practices documents regarding the initiative
    • Collaborating with program vendor, TRG Arts, to compile and present market research
    • Working with ArtsBoston’s Market Knowledge Taskforce – which includes representatives from the area’s leading arts and cultural organizations – to evaluate the program
    • Potential to lead to part-time employment within the organization

    ArtsBoston seeks Member & Ticketing Services Interns to start in January, May and September to work 15-20 hours per week and help with the following projects:

    • Building and creating e-mail campaigns in Constant Contact (top email system used at today’s non-profit organizations)
    • Cultivating and developing new and existing audiences for the BosTix.org 1/2 price ticketing program
    • Market data analysis based on ArtsBoston’s collective lists from 40 local and 25 Berkshires organizations
    • Outreach and support for ArtsBoston’s 170 member groups, which include the area’s top performing and visual art institutions
    • Compiling sales and marketing reports for ArtsBoston member groups
    • Data entry and conversion to Salesforce (one of the top database management software systems)
    • Addressing patron requests as needed
    • Special Projects as assigned such as obtaining member feedback, helping to develop ArtsBoston’s volunteer program, contributing to social media/blogging
    • Potential to lead to part-time employment within the organization

    This is a terrific opportunity to work with a small, hands-on arts organization in many capacities, and to develop relationships with numerous arts organizations in the area. The ideal candidate would be a committed, highly responsible self-starter with a real love for the arts who is proficient in Microsoft Office, has the ability to multitask, possesses strong verbal communications skills, and is quick on his/her feet.
