I very much enjoyed Henry IV, I. It was clear and easy to understand. Hal was great, but I think Hotspur stole the show! The woman next to me had no familiarity with the play, and she enjoyed it also. I'm not a big fan of gender-neutral casting, which is why I only gave four stars. (I KNOW Shakespeare did it! That doesn't make it Preferable!) I look forward to seeing Part II. Collapse

This British playwright has unstuffed his shirt to provide an immensely humorous glimpse into what happens when love-struck Oxford undergrads require creative solutions to their propriety issues. This farce is just the latest offering of The Cannon Theatre, a local black box venue, and has been perfectly cast. You can’t help but be drawn into the ruse. The lead delivers lines and gestures with impeccable timing, making Charley’s Aunt a hilarious character indeed. So if you're looking to lift your mood and laugh till it hurts, look no further! "Charley's Aunt" will leave you smiling long after the curtain call. Bring the whole family! Collapse

What is a British farce without a mistaken identity? Without multiple mistaken identities, in fact? What is a British farce without at least one complex and humorous love triangle? How about without physical, verbal, and ironic humor? Charley's Aunt contains every one of these identifying characteristics. It is almost as if it was written to demonstrate the entire genre, pulling out all the stops in order to present every single farce convention in the book. One may call this a flaw of the production, but really, it makes Charley's Aunt feel like a comfort food - welcomed familiarity. You want a farce? Charley's Aunt will deliver with style. Collapse

Hall showed wonderful understanding of the subtlety and expressive potential of the French style. Melodies were ornamented fluidly and gracefully; lines arched with elan. Colorful registrations -- we are not used to hearing the reedy and nasal sounds of the Flentrop used so consistently -- brought the organ and this music to life. Collapse

Jose Mateo and his dancers are in this 25th season at their peak of perfection in the choreography and in the dancers presentation. Of course the Sanctuary setting and ambiance ads to the overall artistic experience. Thank you all. Collapse

I loved the performance by the Jose Mateo dance company, and especially loved the Sanctuary Theatre. It's beautiful design added a special quality that complemented the ballet.
