    The Museum of Art Rhode Island School of Design, also known as the RISD Museum of Art, is Rhode Island’s leading museum of fine and decorative art, housing a collection of 86,000 objects of international significance. It is southeastern New England’s only comprehensive art museum and is accredited by the American Association of Museums. The RISD Museum strives to be a vital cultural resource by educating and inspiring a wide variety of audiences: families and individuals, scholars and researchers, artists and designers, and students of all ages. The Museum maintains an active program of exhibitions, lectures, tours, workshops and publications dedicated to the interpretation of art and design from diverse cultures ranging from ancient times to the present.

    Admission:

    Members, children under 5: free

    Adults: $12

    Senior citizens (age 62+): $10

    Youths (ages 5-18): $3

    College students with valid ID: $5

    Staff, faculty, and students of RISD or member institutions (with valid ID) free

    Admission is free every Sunday (10 am-5 pm), and the third Thursday evening of each month (5-9 pm).


    Hours:

    Tuesdays through Sundays, 10 am-5 pm
    Thursdays, 10 am-9 pm

    The Museum is closed on Mondays and on the following holidays: January 1, July 4, Thanksgiving Day, and December 25.


    Parking Information:

    Parking (metered or timed) is available along Benefit Street and North Main Street, or at the Metropark lot at North Main and Steeple streets, diagonally across from the First Baptist Church in America. Tell the attendant that you are visiting the Museum in order to receive discount parking. Bring your Metropark slip to the Museum front desk for validation.
