    06/02/13- 10/20/13	Sunday Estate Walks & History of the Beebe Property Highfield Hall Sunday Estate Walks & History of the Beebe Property Presented by Highfield Hall at Highfield Hall June 2-October 20, 2013 First and third Sundays continuing through October, weather permitting.  Docents tell the story of the Beebe family who built both Highfield Hall and its sister mansion Tanglewood on their magnificent 700 acre estate. Learn about the role the Beebe family played in the history of the town of Falmouth, and how their land later became Beebe Woods, Falmouth Hospital, Falmouth Academy and so much more.     07/27/13	Highfield Hall: Bluegrass: America’s Musical Roots, a lecture with Robert Wyatt Highfield Hall Highfield Hall: Bluegrass: America’s Musical Roots, a lecture with Robert Wyatt Presented by Highfield Hall at Highfield Hall July 27, 2013 When mandolin player Bill Monroe put together a band in 1939, the Blue Grass Boys, he blended the country, gospel and blues music that he had learned as a boy. It was music of Appalachia, a sound mixed with traditional music of Scotland, Ireland and England and spiced with jazz. Robert Wyatt’s lecture tells the story, shares foot-stompin’ recordings and clips, and prepares you for the live music you will hear at Highfield Hall on August 4.
