The Opera House
The Opera House is located at 539 Washington Street, in the heart of Boston's theater district. Opened in 1928, the venue has been host to everything from extravagant vaudeville to a movie screen. Recent efforts to revitalize the venue have cemented the Opera House's place in the culture of Boston. Today the Opera House hosts hit Broadway musicals, popular and alternative musicians, along with the occasional opera.

Sanders TheatreSanders Theatre is famous for its design and its acoustics. A member of the League of Historic American Theatres, the 1,166 seat theatre offers a unique and intimate 180 degree design which provides unusual proximity to the stage. |

Symphony HallSymphony Hall opened on October 15, 1900. It was the first concert hall designed with acoustical principles in mind and is regarded as one of the two or three finest halls in the world. With the exception of the wooden floors, the Hall is built of brick, steel, and plaster, with only a moderate amount of decoration. It seats 2,625 people during the BSO season and 2,371 during the Pops season. The first home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra was the Old Boston Music Hall which was threatened in 1893 by a city road-building/rapid transit project. That summer, the Orchestra's founder, Major Henry Lee Higginson, organized a corporation to finance a new and permanent home for the orchestra. Symphony Hall opened on October 15, 1900, with an inaugural gala led by music director Wilhelm Gericke. The architects, McKim, Mead & White of New York, engaged Wallace Clement Sabine, a young assistant professor of physics at Harvard, as their acoustical consultant, and Symphony Hall became the first auditorium designed in accordance with scientifically derived acoustical principles. Widely regarded as one of the two or three finest concert halls in the world, the walls of the stage slope inward to help focus the sound. The side balconies are shallow so as not to trap any of the sound, and the recesses of the coffered ceiling, along with the statue-filled niches along the three sides, help to distribute the sound throughout the hall. Tsai Performance CenterTsai Performance Center, associated with Boston University, presents many free classical concerts by both student and professional groups. The New England Philharmonic and Boston Musica Viva are regular guests in the 500-seat theater. More recently, the center has played host to tapings of Late Night with David Letterman and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. |

New Repertory Theatre in Residence at The Arsenal Center for the Arts Charles Mosesian TheaterNew Rep’s Mainstage shows are performed in the 340-seat Charles Mosesian Theater in the Arsenal Center for the Arts. Built in 2005, the Charles Mosesian Theater is a modern performance space with the most up-to-date theatrical lighting and sound technology.
