Artists’ Plein Air Day at Cogswell's Grant
Presented by Historic New England May 19, 2012 Artists and painters are invited to Cogswell's Grant for a day of plein air painting. Join fellow artists from all over the North Shore to paint beautiful vistas including the Essex River and the Great Marsh, farm fields and landscapes, and our eighteenth-century historic house and barns. Free beverages and snacks will be available during the day. Artists can tour the museum, which features one of the country's most celebrated collections of American folk art.

Morses Pond Walk: Guided trails walk
Presented by Wellesley Trails Committee May 19, 2012 As part of Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend, walk the trails along Morses Pond, a 102-acre pond and a source for our town water wells. View the pond, islands and wildlife. The walk will take you through a pine forest to the old town beach and gravel pit, and along the Cochituate Aqueduct. Meet at 9 a.m. at the gate to the town beach, located at the end of Turner Road, 0.3 mi. west of Weston Rd.

Walking Tour of Sumner Hill
Presented by Jamaica Plain Historical Society at Loring-Greenough House May 19, 2012 Join the JP Historical Society to view a sumptuous sampling of 19th-century Victorian houses — one of the finest collections of “painted ladies” outside of San Francisco. The tour includes the ancestral home of the founder of the Dole Pineapple Company, as well as the homes of several early feminists and an anti-racism activist. Sumner Hill was designated a National Historic District in 1987. Tours are cancelled for heavy rain.
