Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s 20th Anniversary of the Against the Tide event Dates: June 23, 2012 & August 18, 2012 Locations: DCR’s Hopkinton State Park, Hopkinton MA & DCR’s Nickerson State Park, Brewster MA Times: 7am-Noon Description of the event: One mile competitive swim, one mile recreational swim, two mile kayak, three mile walk, five K recreational run and/or five K competitive run to support breast cancer prevention. Independence Day: July 4, 2012

Old Sturbridge Village celebrates Independence Day each year, with a spectacular fireworks display over the Village Countryside in addition to OSV’s regular daytime activities. Visitors can sign a giant Declaration of Independence and play 1830s-style “Base-ball.” The evening celebration includes music, magic, family games and activities followed by a 30-minute fireworks display at dusk. Beer, wine, soft drinks, sandwiches and snacks, are offered for sale, or visitors can bring their own picnic food.
