| The Morning Exciting |
Presented by Montserrat College of Art Gallery
August 28-October 23, 2010
Artwork in The Morning Exciting transports viewers to alternative realities with combinations of audio-visual effects and imaginative content. Robert Amesbury (Los Angeles), Ronnie Bass (New York), David OReilly (Berlin, Germany) and Alexia Stamatiou (Boston) form the core of this multi-media exhibition. Their artwork is inspired by the all-too-real concerns of life here on earth, including war and the pursuit of inspiration and meaning. The artists express their desire to understand essential life questions with exaggerations of reality, such as elaborate myths, surreal colors and space travel. The resulting artwork uses escapism and captivating, unearthly visions to further dialogue. Reception: Thursday, September 2nd 6-8 pm Curatorial Talk: September 2nd, 11:30 am
