Folk Art in a Fine Place: Surprises from the Gore Place Collection
Presented by Gore Place at Gore Place December 28, 2011-June 1, 2012 Among the items displayed in this whole-house exhibit entitled are the trade sign from Christopher Gore's family's paint shop, the weathervane from the1793 carriage house, and Frances Pinckny Gore's 1732 sampler. Placed throughout the mansion, these unique items give a glimpse into the private lives of this distinguished couple. Viewed as part of the mansion tour. Tour times are Monday through Friday at 1pm. Saturdays at 12, 1, 2 & 3pm.

Presented by Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology at Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology May 12, 2009-December 30, 2013 Wiyohpiyata: Lakota Images of the Contested West explores the meanings of a recently discovered nineteenth-century "artist's book," in the collection of Houghton Library, that had been recovered from the Little Big Horn battlefield after Custer's defeat in 1876. The exhibit presents colored drawings by Plains Indian warriors from the book with historic Lakota objects from the Peabody's collections.
