"Of Cuban Invention" - Exhibit featuring the works of eight world-renowned Cuban artists
Presented by AIB: The Art Institute of Boston May 10-June 16, 2012 The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University presents “Of Cuban Invention,” an exhibit featuring over 45 works on paper, painting, and sculpture by eight world-renowned Cuban artists.
The exhibit coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Center for Cuban Studies (CCS) in New York City, which in 1991 spearheaded a successful lawsuit against the U.S. Treasury Department that legalized the importation and sale of original Cuban art.

"Ragtime: The American Hooked Rug Tradition"
Presented by Osterville Museum May 31-September 28, 2012 Early hooked rugs were born of necessity: recycled fabrics and yarn (or just recycled textiles) became rugs that warmed homes. Today, this technique has become an artistic expression. Join us in exploring the history of Osterville--from our Crosby Boat Shops to our 1700s Cammett House and Colonial herb gardens. On Fridays, the Museum hosts the Osterville Farmers' Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
