"Everyday Miracles" and "Tracing Absence"
Presented by Bromfield Gallery at Bromfield Gallery March 31, 2010-May 1, 2011 APRIL March 31 – May 1 Gallery I. Sarah Dobkin: “Everyday Miracles.” Dobkin’s paintings center on the significance of the mundane. Drawing attention to the simple poetry of a moment, even something as prosaic as raindrops in a puddle, can be unexpectedly alluring. Gallery II: Lori Schouela: “Tracing Absence.” In these paintings, Schouela deconstructs the rose, exploring what lies beyond the physically seen. The liquid medium finds its place in the chaos...

"Improvisations," "Under Cover" at Bromfield
Presented by Bromfield Gallery at Bromfield Gallery September 1-September 25, 2010 ”Structural Improvisations” by Jill Weber
Influenced by her architectural training, Weber uses geometric elements in her abstract compositions. She describes an architectural space and volume, while creating an illusion of depth with minimal means. The paintings themselves are approached as constructions. Development of surface and texture is important to the process. Matte and glazed surfaces are juxtaposed to contribute to a sense of light and transparency.
