Introducing: Blog Posts from NAAC Boston Members

This fall and winter, the ArtsBoston blog is bringing you exclusive content from members of the Network for Arts Administrators of Color (NAAC).

The ArtsBoston blog aims to spark dialogue about artistic practices and current events in Boston and the arts community at large. As a public platform, the blog is a chance for ArtsBoston to showcase a diverse range of local artistic leaders, whose voices and actions are influential in making Boston a more equitable city to live and create art.

We are excited to launch this initiative, through which NAAC members share this platform to start direct conversations within the arts community of Boston.

In the coming months, look forward to content about homeownership for artists, advice for early-career artists, navigating life as a freelance artist during the COVID-19 pandemic, and analysis of how the demographics of arts organizations’ leadership contributes to the culture of the sector.

The Network for Arts Administrators of Color (NAAC Boston) is a program that enhances the visibility of professionals of color in Greater Boston’s arts and culture sector, as well as widen the leadership pipeline and highlight opportunities for professional and personal growth in the field. NAAC Boston offers participants the opportunity to connect, network, and share learnings with the intent to empower, elevate, and retain talented professionals of color in the sector. The creation of this network reflects the importance of visibility for professionals of color, and the value that diverse perspectives contribute to an enhanced workforce and culture.
